The county homepage links online court records to the Indiana public courts portal, and the Indiana Judicial Branch Cass County court page also sends users to MyCase for case information and some documents. MyCase searches non-confidential cases in Indiana courts that use Odyssey. It is free for public lookup, but it is not the official court record. Official copies come from the court that maintains the file.

The most exact search starts with a case number, citation number, or cross reference. A name search works when the case number is unknown, but common names can create broad statewide results. Narrowing the court field to Cass County courts, adding a birth date when appropriate, and using open or closed status filters can make the Cass County court records result set easier to read.

What Cass County Court Records Show

Public Access for Cass County Court Records

Restricted Cass County Court Records

Some Cass County court records are not open through ordinary public search. Juvenile CHINS, delinquency, status, termination, and many juvenile paternity records are not public online. Protection-order cases may have limited documents even when a separate protection-order search route exists.

Administrative Rule 9 and the Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records also require confidential information to be excluded or redacted where applicable. Social Security numbers, financial account details, minor information, protected addresses, and documents filed in camera may be withheld. The Indiana State Public Defender page is relevant only for post-conviction representation, not ordinary Cass County trial appointment questions.

Before sending a written request by mail or fax, call the Clerk to confirm the required identifiers, total copy cost, certification cost, and accepted payment method. The Clerk accepts certified checks, cashier's checks, credit cards, and cash, but the posted policy says no personal checks.
